First up is Weleda's offering, Aknedoron Purifying Lotion (£7.50).
Its designed to be used as a part of Weledas two-step system, the first part being the Aknedoron cleanser. I have previously used the cleanser and found that i used it up very quickly, but the product out of the two that really stood out was the lotion. The aim of the lotion is to help the skin to regulate itself, to restore and rebalance. Designed to be used on the face and body and specifically for problem skin it helps to calm but effectively and gently treat blemishes.
The ingredients are great, theres nothing in there that my skin doesn't seem to like. And with some great ingredients of Calendula and Chamomile it really helps to soothe the skin and reduce redness. With some great blemish fighting and astringent ingredients thrown in, its actually quite mild but it works surprisingly very well.
I tend to mainly use it at night, just pouring a little bit out in to my hands and gently rubbing in to my most blemished areas, so far its doing some good!
My main use for this was to help with scars from previous blemishes, but it actually seems to help with blemishes too. Its a unique blend of fruit and seed oils with Vitamin E designed to help reduce scars, stretch marks, fine lines and uv damage for all skin types.
I've got to say its made a massive improvement to my skin. I tend to apply this either over Aknedoron or on its own in the evening after cleansing. I do sometimes go a little overboard that the stated directions of 2 - 3 drops, and can just slather my face in it. But in the morning my skin feels plump and its starting to have some noticeable effect on my scars too.
On a side note, I've been giving this to my mother to use on her scars from her cancer surgery and its worked absolute wonders on them! They've healed so quickly and you can hardly see the scars! i managed to talk her out of putting BioOil on them and I'm so glad i did.
The other little secret weapon is Indie Lee's Blemish Lotion (£18). Being a pretty new brand to the UK shores, its already been a big success. The Blemish Lotion simply put is a type of drying lotion, aimed to treat spots, especially (for me) those awful big bumps under the skin. Simply allow the product to settle to the bottom of the bottle, dip a cotton bud in to the sediment and apply to the areas to be treated. Best left overnight, i found that in the morning spots were definitely smaller in size, and by a couple of days nearly gone. Definitely a permanent resident in my beauty stash!
P.S: Its Indie Lee month on www.abeautifulworld.co.uk (the UK Stockists for Indie Lee), which means its 10% off Indie Lee products on their site.
I'd love to hear if anyone has their own secret blemish buster weapons, or any suggestions for me to try!
